People often ask me how Arrowscape got started, and honestly, it wasn’t some grand plan.
When I finished high school, I was in a unique situation. I was born in Germany, and some important paperwork never got completed. By the time I was 18, I couldn’t even apply for a regular job. I still had to make a living, so I started taking whatever honest work I could find.
If someone needed a yard cleaned, I cleaned it. I didn’t have a vehicle. I rode my bicycle from property to property with rakes, brooms, and shovels bungee-corded to the frame. A basket on the back carried an extension cord, electric trimmer, electric blower, and trash bags.
Looking back, it probably looked pretty funny. But I never took a customer for granted. Every single one mattered. I showed up, worked hard, and made sure people felt like they had made the right decision hiring me. I knew that if I did a great job, they might call me back or tell a friend.
As time went on, I noticed the biggest hole in landscaping wasn’t who had the nicest truck. It was customer service. People kept telling me contractors wouldn’t call back, wouldn’t show up, or would leave jobs half finished. I realized I was already building the business around what people valued most: clear communication, follow-through, and respect for the customer.
One customer became two. Two became ten. I saved for a car, then better equipment, got everything squared away, and built a proper company.
Today, with more than eight years of hands-on landscaping experience, the focus hasn’t changed. That’s the Arrowscape promise: long-term relationships built on communication, dependable service, and respect for every customer who trusts us.
